Aura Aero brings INTEGRAL R to Sun 'n Fun as U.S. market entry takes shape
The French light aircraft manufacturer Aura Aero will exhibit at Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida from 14 to 19 April, bringing its two-seat INTEGRAL R trainer and aerobatic aircraft to one of the United States' most prominent general aviation gatherings.
The appearance marks a deliberate step in the company's North American expansion. Aura Aero established a facility in Daytona Beach last year, situated within the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University research park, to handle assembly, delivery and after-sales support for the U.S. market. Production of the INTEGRAL R at that site is scheduled to begin this summer.
Joining the Aura Aero team at Sun 'n Fun will be Mike Goulian, U.S. national aerobatic champion and former Red Bull Air Race competitor, who serves as the aircraft's U.S. ambassador.
The INTEGRAL R received EASA certification in December 2024 and has been delivering to European customers since 2025. The manufacturer is targeting FAA certification later this year, with first U.S. deliveries potentially following before the end of 2026. The U.S. accounts for more than half of the global aviation training market, supported by close to 600 FAA-certified schools and a pilot population exceeding 525,000.
The INTEGRAL family currently spans three variants. A fully electric variant, the INTEGRAL E, is in development using a Safran motor, with EASA certification and first European deliveries targeted for 2027.
